Why buildpower is complicated in Beyond All Reason
BPs is very complicated. Each unit costs different amounts of metal and energy per point of buildpower. Understanding why helps you stop guessing and start building with purpose.
Why eco draws more BP than factories
Economy buildings like advanced solar and metal extractors draw heavy buildpower for their cost. Factories and storage use relatively little. Send five constructors to build advanced solar at once and the build queue stalls immediately. That is not a bug. The game intentionally assigns higher buildpower consumption to eco structures.
What you can do about it
Spread your constructors across different build jobs instead of stacking them on one eco building. Queue multiple structures simultaneously and let your total BP flow into all of them. This prevents the stall where one expensive project consumes every available builder.
Learning through experimentation
The best way to understand buildpower is to actually test it. Run a skirmish game, queue different building combinations, and watch the BP meter. Seeing stall patterns in practice teaches more than reading about them.
Creed of champions
Understanding buildpower mechanics is a foundation that every serious player needs. Creed of Champions runs training sessions where these fundamentals get walked through with experienced teammates watching. No one gets yelled at for not knowing. Everyone learns.
[Crd] Crend of Champions is a great place to learn and play BAR in a friendly atmosphere. Training sessions, team gameplay, even some non-BAR stuff. Large cross section of abilities, time zones, and game mode interests.
