How to access BAR development channels and find the map editor
BAR hides its development tools behind a role you must claim yourself. Here is how to unlock the dev channels, where the map editor lives, and what to expect when you get there.
Grab the Development Role yourself
The development channels in the BAR community are locked by default. To see them, go to the server customization screen, find the wrench icon labeled Development Role, and click it. The entire category of development channels instantly becomes visible. No one needs to approve the request. It is a self-serve process.
Once inside, keep bug reports in the bug channel and suggestions in the suggestion channel. Each channel has pinned messages that answer the most common questions before you even ask them. Read the pins first.
Where to find the map editor
The map editor community lives in its own dedicated channel. Grab a copy of the editor, then open channel 554307356360441876 and read the pinned messages there. Everything you need to start — download links, documentation, and community support — sits in those pins. Map making is one of the biggest contribution areas for people who want the contributor chevron.
Decurion T1 tank matchup note
For players wondering about early game T1 matchups: the Decurion dominates other T1 tanks. Against a Decurion, you want numbers and positioning, not direct trades. A single Decurion will beat any other T1 tank in a one-on-one fight.
Contribute, do not just observe
The people who get the contributor chevron are the ones building things — maps, code, art. Grabbing the development role is the first step. Actually making something is the second.
