Gunslinger versus Jaguar units and when to cheat in BAR

Gunslingers and Jaguars share similar stats in BAR but serve different purposes. And yes, cheating exists for practice but do not do it in ranked.

Comparing Gunslinger and Jaguar

Gunslingers and Jaguars have roughly similar hit points, range, and speed. The Gunslinger generally performs better in most situations thanks to superior weapon handling and firing arcs. Jaguars work fine as cheap patrol units but lose direct comparisons against the Gunslinger.

Cheat commands for practice

Some players use cheat commands to test unit combinations or stress test their CPU. Sending five hundred Jaguars or five Titans to patrol the enemy base creates maximum chaos. Typing cheat commands in game activates these functions. This should only happen in private matches against AI.

Reporting bugs on GitHub

BAR tracks all bugs and problems through GitHub Issues. Three repositories handle different categories. Lobby and launcher issues go to the BYAR-Chobby repository. Game issues go to Beyond-All-Reason. Engine crashes and core problems go to the Spring engine repository.

Quick reference

  • Gunslinger beats Jaguar in direct comparison despite similar stats
  • Cheats only in private practice matches
  • Bugs go to GitHub: Lobby to Chobby, Game to BAR, Engine to Spring
