BAR hotkeys: custom bindings, factory selection shortcuts, and formation movement

Setting up useful hotkeys and knowing basic shortcuts saves clicks and speeds up BAR gameplay.

Custom hotkey bindings

BAR lets you bind custom commands. If you need a hotkey to select all your factories at once, you can create one. Use the bind command in the console to set it up.

You can also turn on the Factory Dock widget in settings, which shows all your factories in one panel. That is simpler for most players than custom bindings.

Moving units in formation

Holding Ctrl while right-clicking moves your selected units in a formation matching the slowest unit's speed. This prevents faster units from sprinting ahead into a bad position.

Con turret and storage timing

Your first constructor turret costs around 200 energy. Storage comes in around 300 energy. Plan your early build order so your constructor does not sit idle waiting for either one.
