New to BAR, server restarts, and how to report toxic players

Beyond All Reason servers restart periodically during active development. In-progress games continue running even during restarts so players never lose a match mid-game. The community maintains straightforward reporting tools for handling disruptive behavior.

What new players need to know

BAR runs on active development servers that restart every few days to deploy patches and infrastructure updates. When a restart hits while searching for a game, the queue simply pauses rather than disconnecting. Active matches continue running until natural completion. This means players should not panic when the server temporarily disappears. The restart schedule ensures the game receives regular improvements without destroying gameplay sessions.

Reporting problematic players

Two reporting methods exist. The fastest path opens the server website at https://server4.beyondallreason.info/battle, finds the match, clicks the Players tab, and files the report. The in-game approach involves clicking a username in the player list and selecting Report User. Both methods create trackable records that moderators can review and correlate with previous reports from other players.

The Teiserver relationship search at https://server4.beyondallreason.info/account/relationship/search helps locate accounts by name for reporting purposes. Click the search button instead of pressing Enter to work around a known search field bug.

Teamwork expectations

Waiting passively while teammates sit inactive harms the entire team. Expanding aggressively and pushing forward positions while an allied player idles on their starting base leaves undefended real estate that opponents exploit. Team games reward players who communicate expansion plans and adjust positioning when a teammate becomes unavailable.

Creed of champions

Creed of Champions runs training sessions in a friendly, non-toxic environment where active teamwork and expansion discipline separate winning sides from passive losers. Win with skill, teamwork, and respect.
