Getting new players into their first game fast

There is no single perfect ten-minute tutorial that covers BAR. The game has too much depth. A fourteen-minute introductory video exists on YouTube that does a solid job hitting the main beats before dropping someone into a match. For group onboarding, the most reliable method is watching that video together, then jumping into a private lobby with all other new players. Everyone learns at the same pace and nobody feels left behind.

For on-the-spot teaching during a match, explaining the basic economy loop and pointing out the build menu covers enough to survive a first game against other beginners.

Understanding global rating numbers

When someone mentions being "1k global," they are referring to their rating on the global ladder. The number reflects performance across all ranked matches, not a leaderboard ranking. A 1000 rating means exactly that: a thousand points on the ladder. It does not mean they are in the top one thousand players worldwide. The distinction matters when gauging your own progress.

Reading the energy production UI

Energy displays on buildings show two numbers. The main production value shows what the building itself generates. The additional number in the corner represents bonus production from nearby storage or upgrades. If a building produces 3k energy and shows a plus-6k in the corner, the total output combines both figures. Storage proximity and tech level both affect this.

Growing together in BAR

Onboarding new players into a complex RTS works best when the community is patient. Creed of Champions focuses on learning without toxicity, making it easier to bring friends into the game and find willing teachers.

[Crd] The removal of toxicity, the goal of fun and learning, makes for a refreshing spot to play and spend time. It has also made a game with plenty of complexity a bit less daunting to dive into.

Serious RTS play without the toxic baggage.
