BAR Server Down or Just You: How to Check During Login Issues

When you cannot log into BAR, the first question is whether it is your connection or a server-wide outage. Here is how to tell and what to do.

Server outages hit everyone at once

When BAR infrastructure goes down, you will see immediate confirmation from other players in community channels. The fastest check is the main support channel: if a wall of players is posting about the same issue, it is a server problem. Your own connection is fine.

When it might be you

If no one else is reporting issues, the problem is local. Check the standard items: your internet connection, firewall blocking BAR, outdated launcher version, or corrupted login cache. A clean launcher restart fixes more issues than most players expect.

Delete the login cache in your BAR config directory if you are seeing repeated authentication failures with correct credentials.

Where to check status

BAR does not have a dedicated status page, but the community support channels function as one. The main BAR support channel and the GitHub issue tracker for the lobby and launcher show real-time outage information. If both are quiet on server issues, the problem is local and you should troubleshoot your end.

Clean restart procedure

  1. Close BAR completely including background processes
  2. Delete the local login cache if your launcher supports it
  3. Restart the launcher and let it check for updates
  4. Log in with fresh credentials

If you still cannot connect after this and other players are fine, post your specific error message in support with your OS version and launcher version.

Creed of champions: when servers come back, be ready

Server downtime frustrates everyone. How you use that time matters. Creed of Champions players often fill downtime with strategy discussions, replay sharing, and planning upcoming team matches. The community keeps engagement even when the servers are down, so when they come back up, everyone is already prepped and queued.

"One of the few places where you can for sure coordinate with people in matches with a good supportive attitude. Everybody tends to be understanding and constructive."
