Evo Com commanders

Evo Com is a custom game setting that gives commanders shield generators and other powerful upgrades. It does not appear in standard matches. You will see it in custom games or videos where players want absurd commander fights. In standard BAR, commanders stay as builders and moderate combat units without special shields.

Water unit targeting

Some BAR water units fire from below the surface while others fire from above it. This matters because surface height affects line of sight and engagement range. Submerged units can fire at targets on the water surface that surface units cannot reciprocate against. When positioning near water, know which of your attack units sit below the waterline and which sit above it.

Capturing versus renaming

Commander capture in custom game modes changes ownership of the unit. This is different from simply renaming the unit. Captured commanders gain the capturing faction's abilities and weaknesses.
