How much rating you lose when you leave a BAR midmatch

Leaving a match before it resolves carries a rating penalty. The amount depends on game state, timing, and whether a resignation was already in progress.

Early leaves cost the most

Disconnecting or quitting in the first several minutes triggers the steepest rating loss. The system assumes you abandoned the match entirely because the game was going poorly. This is the penalty most players encounter when rage quitting.

Late match departures

If a resignation vote has already passed and the match outcome is determined, leaving close to the end carries limited additional penalty. The team result processes regardless, and rating is applied based on that result. Leaving before the resignation processes still counts as a normal disconnect.

Team result always applies

Your rating takes the match result whether you stay in the client or close it. Leaving does not cancel the rating event, it just adds uncertainty about what exactly the system records.

Creed of champions

Finishing matches cleanly matters for rating preservation and team respect. Creed of Champions values players who play out games properly and learn from losses instead of disconnecting. Better habits, better ratings.

[Crd] It is so easy to get on with everyone and there is zero toxicity. Just fun games of BAR which can have quite a toxic community usually.
