Understanding the BAR buildpower dial widget

The buildpower dial shows how effectively you are converting resources into units. Learning what the dial readings mean helps you stop wasting metal and energy.

What the dial tells you

The buildpower dial presents your current BP usage as a percentage of available capacity. Staying near full utilization means your constructors are working efficiently. When the dial drops below maximum, something is constraining your spending.

The triangular indicators on the resource bars show whether metal or energy is the bottleneck. If metal limits you, you need more miners. If energy limits you, build more generators or wind turbines.

When full BP does not mean full efficiency

Using 100 percent of your buildpower does not automatically mean you are spending your resources optimally. If you are maxed on BP but still cannot convert metal reserves into units, the issue may be construction time on larger units rather than raw buildpower shortage.

Players sometimes confuse having enough BP with having the right construction assignments. The right fix is sending more constructors to the biggest projects, not just building more constructors everywhere.

Keeping the dial simple

The dial widget intentionally avoids showing tons of specific numbers. The core message is simple. Are your builders doing work? Is it the right work? Extra detail creates visual noise and distracts from fast decisions during active matches.
