The dgun base raid

Walking your commander through an undefended gap and deleting three bases with the disintegrator gun is one of the most satisfying plays in BAR. It also only works when the enemy makes a massive scouting error. If you catch a moment when their attention is focused elsewhere, a commander raid can swing the entire game by destroying key production structures before they rebuild.

The trick is patience. Wait until the enemy commits their army to a push or focuses all scouts in the wrong direction. Then slip your commander through the blind spot. One good dgun raid is worth more than two full engagements.

Defending against dgun raids

Keep at least one patrol unit near your backline structures. Static defenses like laser towers around your metal extractors and energy generators catch sneaking commanders. Most importantly, scout your own perimeter. Do not let your entire army leave your back exposed.

The Fatboy question

Rushing a Fatboy is a tempting strategy because it is one of the most powerful units in the game. But enemy air can steal a Fatboy while it is building. You are in serious trouble if the Fatboy gets completed and the enemy uses it against you.

If you rush Fatboy production, make sure you have air cover to protect the build. An unprotected Fatboy construction is an invitation for the enemy to grab it and turn your own investment into a game losing situation.
