What happens when your resources stall in Beyond All Reason

When your metal or energy reserve hits zero in BAR, things do not work the way most new players expect. You can still build, and you are not immediately stuck. But you are leaking efficiency hard.

Stalling does not stop production

When your energy reserve goes to zero, your factories and builders keep working. Production does not halt. Instead, everything runs slower. Every unit and building takes longer to finish because the game is starving your economy.

For metal, the same principle applies. If you are pulling metal off the ground faster than your extractors produce it, build times stretch and your economy drags.

The hidden cost everyone ignores: buildpower

Every unit and building in BAR has a buildpower value. This is sometimes called build time. It represents how much builder effort is required to complete the thing. If one builder works on a building with high buildpower, it takes forever. Stack enough builders on the same project and it finishes much faster.

Buildpower matters more than new players realize. An assisted builder finishes a critical defense structure in half the time, which can mean the difference between holding off an early push and getting wiped.

How to avoid stalling

Keep your eye on the resource bars. If your energy dips below zero, you need more wind generators, solar panels, or a fusion plant. If metal stalls out, you need more mexes running and more metal extractors on high-density spots.

The goal is to stay positive on both resources at all times. Stalling for a few seconds happens. Stalling for minutes means your economy is broken and you need to fix it before you push forward.

Buildpower is your friend

When building something important, throw additional builders at it. If your commander has spare buildpower, point it at the same project. Buildings with high buildpower cost, like advanced structures, benefit enormously from multiple helpers.

Do not wait for your factory to finish building something before queuing your next builder. Queue construction of the next builder from the factory while your current builder assists the current build.

Learn economy without the stress

Managing energy and metal while fighting a war is a skill that takes practice. Creed of Champions runs team games where newer players focus on economy management while experienced teammates handle the frontline pressure, making it easier to learn stalling and buildpower concepts in a real game without the panic.
