How the BAR fight command and builder repair work

Builder units in BAR have several modes that affect how they handle combat, repair, and construction. Understanding these prevents frustrating surprises mid-game.

The fight command options

The standard fight command tells your builders to repair ally structures and build new ones while also fighting. Hold position changes the priority slightly: your builder repairs damaged structures first, then resumes building if the danger passes.

Pressing Ctrl+Space+Fight flips the behavior entirely. Your builder only reclaims enemy wreckage and stops all construction. This is a deliberate override for specific situations like clearing an enemy base or harvesting resources from a destroyed position.

Team and ally distinction

BAR treats "team" and "ally" differently in the game code. A team is one color group. An ally is one of the eight allied colors in a shared team setup. When settings say "help allies," they mean other colors within your broader alliance, not just your exact color group. This matters in large team games where resource sharing and repair assistance flow across multiple players.

Defense tower assistant behavior

By default, builder units assist in building new defense towers but do not repair old ones that are dying. If you want your builders to fix damaged towers, you need to issue explicit repair orders. The default behavior prioritizes construction over maintenance.

Creed of Champions

Knowing these control details means fewer wasted units and faster repairs during fights. Creed players drill their shortcuts until the right response is automatic. That discipline wins team games.

[Crd] It is so easy to get on with everyone and there is zero toxicity. Just fun games of BAR which can have quite a toxic community usually.
