BAR hover units do not counter torpedoes efficiently

Building hovers to counter torpedoes in sea combat is as effective as building seaplanes to counter torpedoes. Both work technically, both lose you resources, and both fail to address the real counter relationship.

Why hovers are not a counter

Players sometimes construct hovering units when facing enemy torpedo pressure because hovers can fire on submerged targets. While hovers do technically interact with torpedoes, building them specifically as a counter is inefficient. The resource investment required to make hovers fight torpedoes effectively exceeds what a dedicated sea player can sustain without losing their primary navy.

This is like building seaplanes to counter torpedoes. Yes they can attack, but the cost per effective engagement is terrible compared to proper anti-submarine naval units.

Proper torpedo counter strategy

The correct response to torpedo pressure is building naval units designed to engage submarines and destroyers at their own level. Sonar coverage, anti-sub frigates, and depth charge units handle torpedo threats far more efficiently than trying to convert your army composition into a hybrid force.

Understanding unit counter relationships in sea combat is essential for mid-game success. Players who misidentify counter relationships waste resources and lose naval supremacy they cannot recover from.

Reporting bad faith in-game behavior

If you encounter players intentionally feeding to opponents or sabotaging team games, use the inbuilt reporting system. Click the username in the game client and select Report user. Alternately, visit the battle replay page, find the relevant match, and report through the players tab. Do not rely on Discord tickets alone for in-game reports, as the integrated system tracks and correlates player behavior across matches.

Creed of Champions and strategic discipline

Creed training covers the fundamentals of unit counter relationships, including naval combat where misidentifying counters loses games rapidly. Players who think hovers counter torpedoes have not received the systematic instruction that prevents costly mistakes. Creed members learn these relationships early and practice them in organized team sessions.
