Understanding the Time Behind Widget in Beyond All Reason

The time behind metric shows exactly how many seconds of build progress your idle constructors are costing you. Green means the economy runs clean. Red means builders sit useless and metal leaks away.

What the Time Behind Number Means

Time behind calculates how far behind a player would fall if every constructor went idle at that moment. The widget converts unused build power into a concrete number of seconds. A display of 30 seconds means the idle constructors hold enough metal to push the base 30 seconds ahead if that capacity were actively building. An idling commander registers at roughly 1250 metal, which shows a high number on the widget since the com is the most valuable builder on the field.

Reading the Color-Coded Display

Green means all constructors stay busy and BP usage tracks efficiently. Amber sits in the middle with some builders waiting on resources or positioning. Red signals heavy idle capacity and metal going to waste. The color scale gives a quick visual check without reading the number. Players can glance during fights and know whether to pull constructors back to the economy line.

Keeping Builders Busy

Every idling constructor represents lost momentum. Set build queues on mex upgrades and energy before pushing out. Issue reclaim orders on old factories or dead trees when nothing else needs building. A busy idle builder costs less than an idle one with nothing queued. The widget punishes inattention, so keep it visible during midgame transitions when economy expands faster than build commands.

Creed of Champions

Creed of Champions runs matches where players share this kind of practical knowledge and focus on steady improvement. The community emphasizes clear information and disciplined team play over blame when economy slips. Players learn from each other in a structured, respectful environment.

"One of the few places where you can for sure coordinate with people in matches with a good supportive attitude. Everybody tends to be understanding and constructive." [Crd]
