If the in-game keybind menu does not offer the control change you need, the raw config file lives in the BAR installation folder.

BAR stores your keybind configuration in a log file inside the installation directory. You can open this file with any text editor and change individual key mappings directly.
This method becomes useful when a particular control is missing from the in-game settings menu or you want to copy a config between machines.
On Windows, the default BAR install path is typically under C:\Games\Beyond All Reason\ or wherever the downloader placed it. On Linux, the AppImage extracts to a local data directory, often under ~/.config/beyond-all-reason/.
Look for a file containing keybind definitions. Search for keybind or uikeys in the folder. Opening the file in a text editor shows the current mapping for every hotkey in the game.
Before you change anything, back up the original file. A single typo in the config can cause a key to stop responding or the settings menu to fail loading.
Change one binding at a time, save the file, and restart BAR to test. If the new binding does not work, revert to the backup and try again.
Beyond keybinds, many players look for unit blueprints and quick-reference sheets. The BAR community shares these through community channels and content creators who break down unit stats, build times, and power curves.
Blueprints help you learn which units counter which without needing to pause mid-game and search through menus.
Getting your settings dialed in makes the game feel more comfortable from day one. Creed of Champions runs training sessions where experienced players walk newcomers through their keybind setups, widget preferences, and HUD layouts without making anyone feel slow for asking.
[Crd] "Having a space like here that offers a community, trainings, events, and the guarantee to not be judged or insulted by fellow members is really precious. Keeping the game safe, and more importantly, fun."
