Changing keybinds in BAR

The in-game keys menu does not always reflect every bindable action, especially on non-QWERTY layouts. If a key refuses to register or binds to something unexpected, a community-maintained collection of UI key presets covers many common layouts.

The BAR keybind guide includes ready-to-use collections. For compact keyboards, there are specific 60-key grid layouts with visual reference images showing exactly what each key does.

Linux-specific keybind problems

Alt combinations on Linux can trigger window manager shortcuts instead of game commands. A common example: Alt plus another key opens a system menu rather than deselecting auto-grouped units in-game. The workaround depends on your desktop environment, but adjusting window manager keybindings to not intercept Alt combinations while the game runs fullscreen usually resolves it.

Forcing graphics and texture reload

Textures or visual glitches appearing after switching systems or returning from a minimized state can sometimes be cleared by restarting the game. There is no dedicated in-game command to force a full graphics reload in all cases. If you are on Linux and encountering texture corruption after alt-tabbing or switching workspaces, a complete restart of the lobby client tends to be the most reliable fix. The development team tracks persistent cases through their bug report channels for deeper fixes.

Finding presets after leaving a lobby

Leaving a lobby before noting its preset settings means those details are gone from the client. BAR does not currently keep a history of lobby configurations you previously joined. If you need the settings back, ask the host or another player who stayed in the lobby to grab the tweakdef string and send it over.

Getting your controls right

Sorting out your keybinds early saves hours of friction. Take ten minutes to review what binds feel natural and lock them in. Community key collections make this a lot faster than starting from scratch, especially on unusual keyboard layouts. Players who dial in their controls and communicate cleanly with teammates consistently climb faster. That kind of deliberate, team-minded approach is what Creed of Champions is built around. Better teammates, better games.
