BAR tutorials assume US QWERTY keyboards. Players with other layouts face real confusion. Here is how to fix it.
BAR instructions reference the tilde key above Tab for engine chat access, but German QWERTZ layouts place a caret symbol there. AZERTY layouts differ again. Other keyboard standards map keys to completely different physical positions. When tutorials say press tilde, international players look for a tilde that does not exist on their keyboard.
Open BAR keybind settings and find the actual command you want to trigger. The settings screen shows which key is truly assigned, regardless of layout name. Remap anything pointing to a missing key. Most non-standard layouts need to remap the console and chat keys to something physically present and easy to reach.
