How the BAR mentor program works and why academy chat exists

Beyond All Reason runs a volunteer mentor system for replay analysis and guidance. Understanding how to request a review, where to find resources, and what to expect from the academy community saves time and frustration.

requesting a mentor review

The mentor program works through a thread-based ticket system in the community academy chat. To get a game reviewed: create a thread, paste the replay link from beyondallreason.info/replays, mention your in-game name if it differs from your account, and optionally ask a specific question about what went wrong. A volunteer mentor reviews the replay when they have available time and posts feedback in the thread.

All public matches upload automatically, so replay links are usually ready within minutes. Private matches do not upload, meaning players need to share the replay file manually from their local game folder.

the academy chat resource

BAR maintains an academy chat channel with pinned guides covering every aspect of the game from opening builds to advanced economy management. Mentors monitor this channel during most active hours and answer questions from newer players. The resource collection grows constantly as community members add guides for newly discovered strategies and unit interactions.

is playing the game the only way to learn

Some debate exists in BAR communities about whether active play is the only legitimate learning method. The community consensus is that replay analysis, watching experienced players, and studying community guides all contribute meaningfully to improvement. Players who combine active play with passive learning progress faster than players who only play matches without reflecting on their decisions.

creed of champions

Creed of Champions supplements the public mentor program with its own internal coaching system. Members get paired with teammates one skill level above them for targeted practice sessions. The combination of public mentor reviews and clan-based coaching accelerates improvement far beyond what either system provides alone.
