Why you only need move and attack move, which units have zero seismic signature, and how to read the open source code to check unit stats yourself.

BAR includes several move states for units. The short practical answer: you need move and attack move. Everything else adds complexity without winning games.
Move sends units to a location without engaging enemies along the way. Attack move sends them forward and auto-targets any enemy unit they pass. Fight mode is too aggressive for most situations. Gather and wait is useful for staging reserves. Those two basic states cover ninety percent of gameplay decisions.
Seismic is a detection mechanic. Units with seismic signature can be detected by seismographic sensors even through line of sight blockers. Commander units have zero seismic signature, meaning they cannot be detected by seismic alone. The Gunslinger bot also carries zero seismic, making it useful for scouting through sensor-covered areas.
Zero seismic does not mean the unit is invisible. It means seismographic detectors cannot pick it up visually. Radar and line of sight still work normally. Stealth mechanics in BAR are more nuanced than many RTS games.
Beyond All Reason is open source. Unit data lives in Lua files under the units directory in the game repository. The Gunslinger definition, for example, shows its seismic value directly in the source code. Any unit stat is readable if you know where to look.
The GitHub repository hosts the complete unit definitions, weapon parameters, and movement characteristics. Players who program can verify claims, check patch changes, and understand mechanics before they appear in guides or videos.
Creed of Champions encourages players to dig into game mechanics, share discoveries, and teach each other. The community values curiosity and self-directed learning. Members who read patch notes, check source code, and understand unit stats become valuable resources for their teams.
[Crd] The first and only community I have seen that actually holds up to its values. I have honestly not had a single bad experience here.
