Fixing BAR driver errors on NVIDIA systems

If BAR tells you to exit and reinstall your drivers, the fix is usually simpler than it sounds.

Update through the NVIDIA app

Open the NVIDIA app on your system and go to the Drivers tab. Click Check for Updates in the top-right corner. Install the latest driver release and restart your computer. This resolves the error message in most cases.

Do not skip the restart step. A driver swap without a reboot leaves the old driver partially loaded, which can cause the same error to reappear on your next BAR launch.

When the error lies elsewhere

Sometimes the game shows a driver error message even when drivers are current. If you just updated and the error persists, try verifying your game files through the official BAR downloader. A corrupted game file can mimic a driver problem.

Also check the BAR support channel for pinned guides. Community members track which driver versions cause conflicts after each NVIDIA release.

Keep an eye on driver release notes

NVIDIA driver updates occasionally introduce bugs that affect specific games. If BAR starts crashing right after a driver update, search the BAR community for others reporting the same issue. Rolling back one driver version usually works as a temporary fix while waiting for a patched release.
