The rating system always calculates your score from the first ranked match. The display simply stays hidden while uncertainty values remain elevated. This prevents early-game rating volatility from affecting matchmaking decisions and lobby filtering. The balancer still uses your invisible rating for team composition every single match.
Two methods work for viewing hidden ratings. Players can type $whoami in lobby chat, which returns their current account information including rating. The Teiserver website at https://server4.beyondallreason.info also displays rating after login. Both methods show the actual calculated value even when the UI hides it.
