When you join a custom skirmish or scenario and do not start where expected, the fix is usually straightforward. Spawn positions are tied to team numbers, not player slot order. If you are player one but sitting on spawn three, join team three in the lobby and move the AI to team one. That swaps the positions without touching map scripts.
When the BAR dot-EXE installer fails to launch entirely, the problem is rarely the installer itself. Common causes: Windows SmartScreen blocking the file, an antivirus quarantine, or a missing Windows runtime dependency. Check the downloads folder for the file, right-click it, and check if Windows flagged it. The bug report channel in the community Discord handles installation troubleshooting.
