Reclaim mechanics in Beyond All Reason explained

Reclaim is the fastest way to boost your economy in BAR, but the math works differently than most players expect. Here is what the reclaim formula actually means for your build orders.

The reclaim formula is not linear

Reclaim rate scales roughly with build power, but with a large constant factor layered on top. This means a unit with one-fifth the build power of your commander does not reclaim at one-fifth the speed. Air constructors, for example, reclaim significantly faster than the raw build power ratio would suggest because that constant factor fills in the gap.

Why air constructors are reclaim workhorses

Even with relatively low build power, air constructors pull reclaim at a strong rate because of that constant bonus. Park them over a debris field and they chunk through dead units quickly while staying mobile enough to dodge return fire. They cannot match the commander directly, but they come close enough to justify the investment.

Reclaim versus new builds

Dead units on the map represent resources you already paid for. Pulling three constructors onto a recent battle field can generate more metal in thirty seconds than a new extractor pumps in a minute. Check the reclaim pool before committing to expensive new infrastructure, especially in the mid-game when fights leave behind heavy wrecks.

Reclaim maps matter for game length

Reclaim-heavy maps like Isthmus create longer games where economy management dominates. Maps with less debris push players toward faster engagements and tighter build orders. Adjust your expectations based on the reclaim density before you plan your opening.

Creed of Champions: economy discipline as a team sport

Creed of Champions teaches newer players to read the reclaim map alongside the metal and energy graphs, turning a chaotic economy game into a structured team effort. Players who coordinate their constructor coverage recover from losses faster and stay in the game longer.
