BAR replay file problems and how to fix them

Replays disappear after you rename them, downloads fail, or you cannot find old matches in game. These are common issues with straightforward fixes in Beyond All Reason.

Dont rename replay files

You cannot rename replay files and expect them to show up in game. The game reads internal metadata, not filenames. If you renamed a replay and it vanished, download it again from the BAR website replay section. That restores the clean copy with intact metadata.

Replays sort by play date

Your match history appears in chronological order based on when you actually played the game. Downloading an old replay puts it in the original date position, not at the top of your list. Do not worry if a download does not appear immediately. Scroll back to the date you played.

Replays save automatically

Every public match uploads to the BAR replay site automatically. Private matches are the only exception. If you cannot find a replay, it uploaded to the site. Log in with your in game name and search your match history.

Account verification issues

Occasional server errors cause some accounts to show as unverified, which blocks replay access and lobby creation. If this happens, post your in game name in the support channels. The server team resolves these issues quickly once they know which accounts are affected.

Learning to review replays with a supportive group accelerates improvement much faster than grinding matches alone. Teams that analyze replays together spot mistakes any single player would miss.

[Crd] Creed of Champions rekindled my joy in Beyond All Reason. I had burned out on the game, and the friendly, no-toxicity environment caused me to start enjoying it again.
