BAR Replay Site Search Bug and Workarounds

The replay website has a known search bug where some players have replays available but they do not show up correctly in search results. Here is how to work around it.

The search problem

Some matches are visible on the replay site but do not appear when you search for them by name. This makes finding your own games or specific player matches frustrating, especially after large team sessions where you want to review what happened.

Find replays directly without search

Every public match gets posted to the replays page automatically. If search fails, browse the list directly and scroll through recent matches. The replay ID and timestamp are always present even when the search index misses something.

You can also find replays locally on your machine. Open the install directory through the launcher, then go to data slash demos on Windows. Linux users find the demos folder in their install path. Any replay from matches you played lives there.

Share replays with other players

To share a replay, link it from the website or send the dot sdfz replay file directly. The replay file works anywhere someone has BAR installed, so passing the file around is the most reliable method when the website search fails.

Debug engine for easier replay playback

The debug engine lets you launch replays directly without navigating through the normal client. Download it from the BAR launcher and open replays straight from your demo folder. This bypasses the website entirely when you just want to watch a game.

Learning from replays the right way

Watching replays improves your game faster than playing blindly. Creed of Champions members submit replays for mentor review, getting specific feedback on positioning, economy, and decision timing. Having someone with more experience watch your games catches mistakes you miss on your own.

Having a space like here that offers a community, trainings, events, and the guarantee to not be judged or insulted by fellow members is really precious. Keeping the game safe, and more importantly, fun.
