Enabling replay statistics and fixing UI blur in BAR

Common visual problems in Beyond All Reason replays and spectator mode, with step-by-step fixes for each one.

Turning on the statistics display

When watching a replay or spectating a live game, you can enable the resource comparison bars that casters use. These bars show who leads in economy, army value, and map control at a glance.

Open the settings panel in the top right corner of the screen. Look for the spectator and replay category. Under that heading, toggle on the spectator HUD option. The resource comparison overlay appears on screen showing the familiar bar graphs.

If you only see a simple statistics overlay in the middle of the screen, that is a different widget. The full resource comparison requires the spectator HUD setting specifically.

Fixing the blur overlay bug

Some players encounter a strange blur bar overlaying parts of the interface during gameplay or replays. This is a known graphics bug.

Go to your Settings menu and turn off user interface blur. If that alone does not fix it, also disable depth of field in the same graphics settings area. One or both of these settings eliminates the visual artifact for most players.

Getting your replay reviewed

Replays are saved automatically on the BAR website unless you play a private match. If you want improvement feedback, upload your replay through the BAR replay page and create a review request.

Provide your in-game name if it differs from your forum or account name. Volunteer mentors review submissions when they have time. This is one of the fastest ways to find out what you did wrong in a match and how to fix it.

Learning from replays

Watching replays of stronger players teaches faster than playing blindly. Use the spectator HUD to track the economic decisions that separate good players from average ones. Notice when they expand, what tech paths they pick, and how they respond to pressure.

Combine this with getting your own games reviewed. Seeing your own mistakes in replay with someone explaining them creates the quickest improvement cycle available in BAR.

Creed of Champions

Creed of Champions encourages replay review as part of the learning process. The mentality is straightforward. Play, record, review, improve. No blame, no drama, just concrete feedback from people who want to see you get better.

[Crd] Creid of Champions rekindled my joy in Beyond All Reason. I had burned out on the game, and the friendly, no-toxicity environment caused me to start enjoying it again.
