Dealing with Shuriken Units and Air Control in BAR

Shuriken air units force opponent decisions that shape the entire match. Understanding the counter cycle keeps you from getting outplayed by minimal investment.

What shuriken does

Shuriken units are effective at forcing anti-air investment across every lane a player controls. The opponent either commits resources to AA everywhere, or risks losing air units to shuriken harassment. Either way, the shuriken player extracts value from minimal spend.

The decision tree

If you make fighters and the opponent builds shuriken, the shuriken gets a stun off and then you destroy it. The trade is roughly even or slightly in your favor. If you make fighters and they ignore shuriken, your fighters dominate. If you skip air and they play air freely, the shuriken player controls the map.

Relying on aggressive air to force opponent AA investment is a two-edged approach. The resources spent on AA represent economic diversion that could have gone elsewhere. But committing too much to anti-air also reverses your economy like building a nuke, the investment takes resources that delay your own offensive push.

Playing around shuriken

Build a minimal anti-air presence alongside your fighters rather than going all-in on one approach. Mix your unit composition so shuriken cannot stun your air force without consequences. Keep map awareness active so shuriken harassment does not catch your production unprotected.

Talk through air strategy with teammates

Coordinated air play across a team crushes disorganized air responses. Creed of Champions members communicate their air composition decisions before and during matches, preventing the scenario where one player builds all the AA and another player skips it entirely. Shared air planning creates reliable map control.

One of the few places where you can for sure coordinate with people in matches with a good supportive attitude. Everybody tends to be understanding and constructive.
