Skirmish Commands, Lobby Bugs, and When Legion Becomes a Default Faction

Map height commands do not work in skirmish

Players sometimes try to modify skirmish maps using commands like !bSet debugcommands with parameters for flatten, water level, floor height, and terrain elevation. These commands have no effect in standard skirmish matches. The map geometry loads before any lobby tweaks can alter it, so parameters targeting map heights and terrain features arrive too late to matter.

If you want custom maps, create them separately and load them directly. Lobby tweaks handle unit balance adjustments and matchmaking settings, not terrain edits during match setup.

Lobby stuck showing FFA versus AI

A common confusion occurs when a lobby displays the title with "FFA versus AI" even though the player intended a standard match. The display says versus AI because the player is alone in the lobby with preset FFA settings active. Adding another player or switching the lobby game mode resolves the display. This is not a bug in the matchmaking system. It is the lobby reflecting that a single player with FFA presets against no opponents looks like versus AI configuration.

Checking the lobby preset before starting prevents this. If FFA preset is enabled in your lobby settings, disable it before queuing for standard team matches.

Legion as a default faction timeline

Rumors place Legion alongside Armada and Cortex as a future default faction. The development team has not made firm commitments on this. The expected path involves completing the full naval unit roster first, then running a comprehensive balance pass across all factions, and finally promoting Legion to default status. This timeline extends roughly a year or more. Server maintenance, unrelated to Legion development, has occasionally caused outage rumors that get misattributed to faction work.

The Creed of Champions approach

Creed of Champions keeps members informed about actual development timelines and helps them focus on improving with currently available content rather than waiting for future updates.
