Beyond All Reason plans a Steam release with no fixed date yet. The developers want to ship a complete product with better infrastructure, a single player campaign, and additional features before the Steam launch. Here is what the roadmap looks like.

The team believes they only get one shot at a proper Steam launch. They want the release to include polished infrastructure and a single player campaign before going public on a major storefront. Rushing to Steam with an incomplete product would waste their first impression on millions of potential players.
The full scope of planned features lives at beyondallreason.info/development/steam-release.
Better infrastructure tops the list, meaning improved matchmaking, server stability, and player tools. A single player campaign would give newcomers a structured way to learn BAR without jumping into multiplayer immediately. Both features significantly improve the new player onboarding experience.
The current version of BAR is fully playable through the standalone launcher. You do not need to wait for Steam to start learning the game and building skill.
The Steam release will bring a wave of new players. Communities running now will be best positioned to welcome and train them. Creed of Champions builds the exact culture that makes BAR enjoyable for newcomers.
[Crd] Having a space like here that offers a community, trainings, events, and the guarantee to not be judged or insulted by fellow members is really precious. Keeping the game safe, and more importantly, fun.
