How to get your BAR game reviewed by a mentor

Watching your own replays helps, but having an experienced player break down your decisions speeds up improvement dramatically. Here is the process for getting a mentor to review your game in Beyond All Reason.

Where your replays live

Every public match you play saves a replay automatically. Find it on the BAR website at beyondallreason.info/replays under your player name. Private matches store replays locally in your data/demos folder instead. Grab the link before you request a review.

How to submit your replay

Head to the academy chat channel and create a thread using the button in the top-right corner of the channel. Name it with a clear format: Team size | Map | Your name | What you want reviewed. Drop the replay link in the thread. If your in-game name is different from your forum name, mention that too. The thread system works like a ticket queue. Mentors pick up reviews when they have time and post their notes directly in your thread.

What to ask for

A generic "review my game" request gets slower results than a specific question. Tell the mentor what you are worried about. Examples include: was my early builder allocation right on this map, did I transition to T2 at the right time, or why did I lose the engagement at the five-minute mark. Focused questions lead to focused answers.

What to expect from the review

Mentors walk through the replay and point out the decisions that cost you resources, positioning, or tempo. The feedback ranges from build order timing to unit composition choices to positioning mistakes. Take notes. Apply one or two changes in your next session. Improvement stacks one fix at a time.
