Rating breakdown by format

BAR uses OpenSkill ratings that are separate for each team size: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and larger. Your 1v1 rating does not predict your performance in 4v4. Check your specific ratings at the Battle Server Ratings page on beyondallreason.info.

Understanding chevron levels

The average BAR player sits around 4 chevrons as a reference point. Higher chevron levels indicate more experienced players. When joining noob lobbies, keep in mind that max rating caps of 20 or 25 may still include players significantly above your skill level.

What unranked means

When a lobby shows as unranked, it means the match will not affect your OpenSkill rating. These lobbies exist for practice, casual play, and experimenting with strategies without rating consequences. They are not necessarily easier.

Creed of Champions: improvement at your pace

Rating systems measure, they do not define. Creed of Champions focuses on improvement through teamwork rather than chasing a number. Players of all skill levels find a welcoming space to grow.
