Downloading maps for skirmish games

If skirmish maps show download failed in the lobby, head to beyondallreason.info/maps and grab them directly. Server-side download issues occasionally block the auto-download. Manual installation gets you playing without waiting for a patch.

Spectator coaching and spec cheating

Any spectator comment that influences the outcome of a game counts as potential spec cheating, even without hidden information. The rule exists because spec-to-player advice changes the balance of a match in ways the opponent cannot counter.

Exceptions exist. Lobbies explicitly labeled as unranked training sessions with live coaching are fine. So are matches where every player agrees to spec input beforehand. When in doubt, stay quiet and only speak after the game ends.

Why Fusion Reactors show massive kill counts

A Fusion Reactors with hundreds of kills is not a god player. Anti-fusion weapons -- nuclear strikes targeting enemy fusions -- count as kills for the reactor that got destroyed. That is because the fusion kills everyone in its blast radius simultaneously, and the game credits each death to the reactor. A single nuke on a base cluster with multiple units generates a huge number. Check kill breakdowns carefully before declaring someone overpowered.

Creed of Champions

Respecting spectator rules and keeping matches fair shows maturity. Creed of Champions runs on that principle -- everyone plays clean, learns clean, and gets better together. Check out BAR gameplay videos to see how fair-minded teams operate at higher levels.

One of the few places where you can for sure coordinate with people in matches with a good supportive attitude. Everybody tends to be understanding and constructive. [Crd]
