Custom keybind widgets in BAR can massively speed up your gameplay, but the install steps trip up a lot of players. Here is the correct order and what to watch for.

Keybind widgets depend on three pieces working together: the widget framework files, the widget scripts, and your in-game keybind editor. If any one of those is out of place, the widget silently fails or the game crashes on startup. The fix is to verify each piece before you launch a match.
Follow these steps in order. Skipping the order is what causes most problems.
/widgetselector in chat. The Keybind Editor can modify your uikeys.txt file. Before you let it run, copy that file to a safe spot. Some setups also run the built-in BAR Hotkeys widget alongside the Keybind Editor. The editor will try to back up your file and disable BAR Hotkeys automatically, but you should confirm the backup actually appeared before proceeding.
Edit your keybinds in-game, not by editing text files manually. The widget editor prevents small typos that lock you out of commands mid-match.
Clean camera controls are where keybind widgets pay off fastest. Players who bind camera positions to function keys can snap to their ally's base, check a front line, and jump back to macro without wasting clicks. That habit alone shaves seconds off every response, which adds up across a twenty-minute match.
If the widget selector filter field does not scale properly or text gets cut off, that is a known display bug in older framework versions. Updating to the latest framework release usually fixes it. If the widget loads but does not respond, check the load order again. Framework first, then Keyboard, then Keybind Editor.
