Squads
Summary: Squads are the main Creed battle teams.
- Role: Squads are subdivisions of the Creed clan that will primarily be the battle combatants.
- Start: Each squad starts with four tiles.
Mercenaries
Summary: Mercenaries expand a squad's fighting power and can be replaced when a valid slot opens.
- Who they are: Non-clan members sign up as mercenaries and get recruited by squads to fight on their behalf.
- Recruitment rule: Each tile touching a squad's starter tile group allows one mercenary.
- Retaken tile: If a squad takes back one of its qualifying tiles, it may recruit another mercenary.
- Quit rule: If a mercenary quits on Discord and the squad still holds the tile, that squad may recruit another mercenary.
- Squad choice: Any squad may vote to replace its hired mercenary or disband that hire.
- Mercenary choice: A mercenary may quit a squad and start working for another squad at will.
- Full redistribution: A whole squad may distribute its members as mercenaries to other squads and attach conditions to that help.
Challenges and battles
Summary: Any squad can issue challenges, and coordinated attacks are allowed.
- Who can be challenged: Every squad has the ability to issue a challenge to another squad, even those that hold no territory.
- Scheduling standard: All squads are to find the best time to accept or reject the challenge — no gaming here, just be fair as we all have jobs.
- Challenge limit: Each squad may defend freely and issue one attack per week.
- Coordination: Two squads may coordinate attacks against one squad.
- Shared event time: If two squads attack one defender, the second attacker may be required to attend the same event time as the first.
- Double-header: If two squads meet to fight over one tile, they may also fight over one more tile in that same event.
- Battle format: Battles are best of 3. If a set is tied, teams keep playing until the series is decided.
- Formal process: Challenges are posted through the Discord declare war section and cannot be withdrawn once posted.
- Event exception: During the event, squads may battle as much as they want without spending attack points, but they must issue commands, absorb mercenaries, and declare future attack-point use first.
- Failure to arrange: Failure to arrange a battle within the time given results in a loss.
Cadence
Summary: The current season uses a shorter response window.
- Response window: Every squad has 4 days to respond to a challenge — this season only, due to event size.
- Season length: A full season usually lasts 1 month.
- Reset flow: At the end of the month there is a cessation of hostilities, followed by one week before the new map is revealed.
Modifier tiles
Summary: Modifier tiles grant special powers to the squad that holds them.
- Iron Isle: Allows a team to add up to 3 modifications to a single map they hold. These may also be used on special tiles. Exact event timing for applying them will be revealed during the event.
- Cloud 9: Allows a squad to add three tweaks to a map they hold. These may also be used on special tiles, but not on maps they are trying to conquer.
- Duration: Iron Isle changes and Cloud 9 tweaks last as long as the team holds the tile.
- Additional tiles: More modifier tiles will be launched during the actual event.
Adaptive command tiles
Summary: Adaptive Command tiles are special modifier tiles with split value.
- Score value: Each one counts as one tile for end-of-season scoring.
- Benefit value: Each one counts as double for mercenary capacity, Iron Isle map modifications, and Cloud 9 tweaks.
- How to take one: To take a modifier tile, challenge any other squad to a battle over it.
FFA and Claymore
Summary: Claymore is the central contestable free-for-all tile.
- How it works: To take it, one must issue a challenge to all available squads, and win against all those that show up.
- Scheduling preference: If one squad holds the FFA and another challenges it, the third required squad may be required to attend the arranged time or give that time preference.
- Score value: Claymore counts toward the final season score as 2 tiles.
Battle size
Summary: Bringing more people matters.
- Expectation: Squads should bring as many people as possible, including mercenaries, to all battles.
- Advantage: The squad that brings the most people can add any one unit restriction for one out of the three battles. Reference
Non-clan participation
Summary: Non-clan players can join through the mercenary system.
- Join path: Sign up as a mercenary and check out the launch day event.
- Next step: Once a mercenary signs up, a squad leader will reach out to them.
- Where to go: Visit the Discord server and see the rules area for details.
