How to tell when metal or energy limits your buildpower

Your buildpower gets bottlenecked when resource income falls short of construction costs. Identifying which resource holds you back is the first step to fixing it.

Reading the bottleneck indicators

The BAR eco bar shows triangular indicators on both the metal and energy sides. These indicators point toward whichever resource is pulling you down. When you hit 100 percent BP but still cannot spend all your resources, the bottleneck indicator tells you what to fix.

Metal bottleneck shows with the metal side indicator. You need more extractors. Energy bottleneck shows on the energy side. You need more generation from solar, wind, or fusion.

What happens when you are maxed but cannot build

Sometimes players see full BP utilization and still cannot afford expensive units. This usually means you are spending all available buildpower but the individual unit takes more time than your current BP can deliver instantly. The fix is sending additional constructors to that specific build job.

This is different from having too few constructors. It is a targeting problem, not a capacity problem.

Building the right eco fix

If metal is your bottleneck, expand your metal map coverage. If energy limits you, add generation before metal. Building more extractors without the energy to support them creates metal that sits idle in storage, which is just as wasteful as idle builders.

Creed of champions

Understanding your eco tells you where to focus improvement. Creed of Champions has training sessions that walk through these fundamentals with experienced players who actually explain the why. No judgment, just practical help.
