Legion is experimental
Legion sits in the experimental section of game settings because it remains under active development. Many regular players leave experimental factions toggled off by default to keep matches within the established Armada and Core balance. You can enable Legion in the settings when you want to try it out.
Drone units and the flying carrier
Legion fields four or five different units and buildings that deploy drones. One of them is a flying carrier that launches and recovers aircraft. This creates a distinctly different playstyle from Armada and Core, which rely on direct unit production from static factories. Legion drone mechanics shift the economy and production timing significantly.
Anti-nuke naval units
Legion includes an anti-nuke ship among its naval roster. This gives Legion a unique defense option against nuclear strikes from fleet positions. Naval Legion strategies revolve around combining this protective layer with drone deployment and map control.
Faction identity still developing
Legion is receiving updates and balance passes. The developers continue refining its unit roster and economic model. Faction-specific traits for all three factions remain in flux, meaning the identity of each one will continue to evolve across seasons.
Trying new factions with a supportive group
Experimental factions are intimidating at first. Playing Legion against experienced opponents in random matches can go poorly. Creed of Champions helps by providing practice environments where members test new factions together and share what they learn. No one gets penalized for experimenting with an untested build order.
The removal of toxicity, the goal of fun and learning, makes for a refreshing spot to play and spend time. It has also made a game with plenty of complexity a bit less daunting to dive into.
